I entered the Teacher Training program to deepen my own Yoga practice. I knew that the goal of Yoga was to unite the mind, body, breath and heart. As I strove to find balance in my personal practice (especially in Asana) I began to search for Balance in all areas of my life: relationships, family life, my studies, my hobbies, diet and lifestyle. The training program gave me the strength and determination to face a major life challenge that I had procrastinated about for a few years. It's a challenge that I face daily and I gained many skills, especially on a spiritual level, that is allowing me to be successful. I enjoyed the contact with other students that share my passion and was introduced to many resources that I can use to learn more. Nesta said on the first evening together that it was going to be a journey and I feel that the 10 months was really the beginning of my own personal journey which will be life long and encompassing all areas of my life. I look forward to sharing my knowledge, my love and my passion for Yoga with others.

YCB, and it’s amazing team of teachers helped me change my life indeed! In 2003, I was a full time sales person, living on auto pilot.. only half conscious really. One fateful Spring day, I attended my first ever yoga class, at the YCB, Mac’s Monday night class. I left that class floating on a cloud. Class after class, I fell more in love with yoga, and all of it’s aspects. That Fall, I entered into the teacher’s training program, with no intention of teaching, only looking to deepen my knowledge of yoga. With much support, and the tremendous guidance of Sue, Nesta, Tony, and the rest of the YCB team, I began to realize that I was actually meant to teach! Now, four years later, I have created the life that I love, teaching yoga full time, in Kelowna, BC. I have a great foundation of knowledge, imparted to me, with love, from great teachers, with great patience and wisdom. With out their support, and faith in me, my journey would have been so different, I can’t imagine. I am forever grateful to the YCB and all that it offers!

You remember in the Wizard of Oz, Dorothy says, "If I even go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own back yard. Because if it isnt there I never really lost it to begin with." ? Yoga Teacher Training taught me to remember that our hearts desire - all we need - is with us always, and if you cant feel it ... while yoga is the backyard :) I'm so grateful.
- Thank you, Kate
